The Missing Rooster
The Missing Rooster is a Side Quest in Everdream Valley.
Unlocking
The Missing Rooster is unlocked after receiving the quest More Chickens! and looting one of the Rooster Feathers scattered around the coop.

Grandma will give you the Cat Toy and instruct you (show the tutorial) for how to train the cat. Do this first before going after the Rooster - get the Cat to at least level 2 Friendship - Yellow.
At this point, you can give the Dog a Dog Treat and give him the Rooster Feather to track, or you can just head towards the southwest side of the main island and approach the large gnarled tree on the edge of a small cliff. Both will complete the "Find the Rooster" task.
Once you find the Rooster, take out the Cat Toy. If you got the Cat's Friendship to level 2, she should be nearby and come fairly quickly to your side. Raise the toy a few times around the tree and eventually the Rooster will jump down. Catch the Rooster and walk him back to the farm to complete the quest.
Having a Rooster on the farm will wake your character at 8:00 instead of 12:00 on most days going forward.
